Sun City West residents slowly warming to solar energy

Steve Loritz likes to say that he is selling the sun. It should be an easy pitch for the solar coach... But convincing residents of Sun City West that they'll make their money back from solar power within their lifetimes can be tough.

Arizona appeals court backs ACC right to set renewable standard

The Arizona Court of Appeals this week upheld the Arizona Corporation Commission's ability to set a state renewable energy standard, and to set tariffs to fund solar energy systems.

SRP customers say they support solar, alternative energy

Salt River Project customers overwhelmingly support alternative energy, especially solar, but most don't want to pay more than about $57 a year for it, according to a recent survey. The utility surveyed 423 customers last month to gauge their support for renewable energy and energy efficiency.

OpEd: Arizona policies help solar gain momentum

Solar jobs are coming to Arizona. Plans for the third manufacturing plant in less than a year were announced last week. And that's on top of a new factory in Goodyear, which opened in October. This is sunny news as Arizona works to rebuild its employment base and broaden its economy.
